David Cousins is professional jazz pianist, composer and arranger who graduated with a music degree (Jazz Studies) from the University of Cape Town in 2004.

He continued his studies at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, developing his composition and arrangement skills further whilst playing and performing with music students from around the world.

Since returning to South Africa, David has performed with top jazz and pop artists such as Marcus Wyatt, Tim Moloi, Jesse Clegg, Gloria Bosman, Kabelo, Khuli Chana etc. He has also written orchestral arrangements for corporate functions and festivals such as Skouspel and Jacaranda Pops.

David currently teaches jazz piano and ensemble studies at Wits University in Johannesburg while maintaining an active performing and arranging schedule.
His album is due for release in early 2015 and comprises original compositions as well as re-arranged/reharmonized cover songs by the Beach Boys and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The album features Peter Auret, James Sunney, Marcus Wyatt, Justin Badenhorst and Sean Jacobs.
